It was five years ago I stumbled upon them by chance, lucky enough to see them in their nest.
It was an extraordinary moment where it was just them and me.
When I look into their eyes what I feel is that they are filled with purpose.
They are filled with the knowledge of nature that we stupid humans have forgotten.
They fly for months at sea and have to navigate through and sometimes eat all the trash we have put out there.
When I was kneeling beside them to take their picture I felt they were looking at me with judgement.
They were saying this with glare in their eyes…
“We are the wise ones, we are the ones who know all, we are the ones that have kept our connection with earth…”
“We are the ones who still listen to the inner ancient wisdom.”
“What is it that you are doing?”
…Good question…what is it that we are doing?…

Those are definitely intelligent eyes. I’m thinking maybe they weren’t judging you. I’m thinking they simply wanted you out of their hair so they could eat dinner. But I think you are right about humans forgetting who they are.
